ECOWAS has taken major steps over the years to increase mobility in the region by codifying freedom of movement into its legal instruments.ECOWAS citizens in possession of a valid travel document to freely circulate within the ECOWAS space and by extension increased economic activities in the region.

Border Management

FMM West Africa project seeks to support the ECOWAS Commission in addressing regional migration management challenges by strengthening its capacities in the area of immigration and border management.
